It took us a few years to assemble what we think is an outstanding team of passionate, driven, and highly credible coaches. Some of our coaches specialize in some areas, some in others. But we all share one common goal – to help you get fit, have fun, and stay challenged.
Dan opened the facility that is now CFH in February of 2009. Spending time as a NCAA Division I athlete (track and field), Dan learned a solid foundation for Olympic Weightlifting at an early age. He graduated with a BS in Exercise, Sport, and Health Education from Radford University in 2005. He’s worked with athletes of all ages and ability levels on and off since then, but decided to work full time as a trainer when he opened Next Level Fitness in February 2009. He earned his CrossFit Level 1 Certification in June 2009 (Montclair, NJ) and opened the doors of CrossFit Hanover in March 2010. He also picked up his CrossFit Olympic Weightlifting Certification at Rogue Fitness in April 2011 and his CF Football Certification in Arlington Virginia in June of 2011. Favorite WOD – Grace (2:01 rx), Favorite Lift – OH Squat (306#). Plans to one day take over the world.
Joel Rodriguez has been with CrossFit Hanover since the beginning of Summer ’10. He has been CrossFitting for years out of his residence and became Level 1 Certified in July of 2010 at CrossFit Pittsburgh. He has 2 Bachelors Degrees, one in kicking ass and the other in taking names. Along with instructing clients at CFH, he spends his free time at his Roundhouse Kicking Academy, where he teaches underprivelaged children how to roundhouse kick the same way that he taught Chuck Norris over 40 years ago. Rodriguez is responsible for the big bang theory (his first ever roundhouse kick at age 3), and is still in the process of writing a letter of apology to the world for killing all the dinosaurs.
Joel Maher has been CrossFitting for about 2 years. He’s certified through the National Personal Training Institute (NPTI) as a Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Nutritional Consultant. He achieved his CrossFit Level 1 Certification in January of 2010 (King of Prussia). He also has his CF Endurance, CF Gymnastics, and CF Mobility Certificates. Joel is also a compeitive olympic weightlifter. He coaches our endurance athletes and does occasional mobility seminars.
Trainer/Tupac Shakur Impersonator
Bryan, a veteran team member of Next Level Fitness and CrossFit Hanover, has been with us since September 2009. He is our in-house speed and agility specialist. Bryan has a degree in exercise science from Lockhaven University. He has a personal training certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CPT). In Bryan’s free time, he leaps to the top of tall buildings in a single bound. He’s known for his close resemblance to the late hip-hop star (turned role model for the entire world) Tupac Shakur.
Sheron has been coaching at CrossFit Hanover since 2011. She coaches CrossFit Classes (CrossFit Level 1 Certified), our Shape Up Hanover Weight Loss Program, and our newest program, the CrossFit Hanover Special Warriors Program. On her 60th birthday she flipped a 275# tire end over end for 3.1 miles. Enough said!

Kevin brings a wealth of knowledge to our gym. He is an Occuptional Therapist by trade, but also holds his CrossFit Level 1, CrossFit Strongman, and CrossFit Movement and Mobility Certifications. He runs our mobility class and helps everywhere else we need him. In his free time, he visits homeless shelters dressed as Santa Clause.

Amy has been a member of CFH since we opened our doors. She started with a background in running and has blossomed into a tremendously well rounded athlete. She currently helps to run our “Tenacity” Program, which is designed to help people train for endurance events. Amy and her husband, Andy, own Shultzs Deli, offering paleo meals for our members and the general public.
